Wear-resistant overlay materials
WearProtect LTM
Soldering wire for any load
Not only is the location of wear and tear important in choosing the welding wire, so is the nature of the load. Some types of welding wire are more resistant to impact loading, others to abrasive loading. There is also special wire for loading at high temperatures. Depending on the nature of the load on the material, we recommend the right welding consumables. Sometimes even using different filler wires on one part because different parts experience different loads.
Highlights wear-resistant welding wire
- Wear-resistant welding of smaller parts
- transport worms, dredge teeth, pipelines
- manual or robotic welding
- 12 times harder than steel
- stand time extension to scheduled stop
- application in all industrial sectors
- welding service in-house or on site
Hard against hard, or not at all
For example: a thruster wears harder on the thrust side, where we can then opt for WearProtect LTM 1000, while welding on the leading edge LTM Ultra. Although then again, you have to take into account the wear of the worm bin around the screw. Something similar applies to mixing buckets in the concrete industry. The blades in such a mixing bucket can be replaced more easily than the mixing bucket itself. So you have to make sure the mixing bucket wins in the wear battle. So you make the wear protection of the bucket stronger than the material of the blades.
Technical details
We supply wear-resistant overlay welding materials in various thicknesses and compositions, depending on the application. The thicker filled wires can be welded on without added gas, although we find that many experienced welders add gas nevertheless. Some of our customers do the overlay welding themselves, but since this still requires a certain skill, we also offer the overlay welding service, performed by highly experienced specialists in wear mitigation with overlay wire. If it involves series work with larger surfaces, such as shovel buckets, we can also use a welding robot. Which overlay materials do you need?
