Wear-resistant concrete up to 1200˚C

Wear-resistant high-temperature concrete

High-temperature concrete consists of wear-resistant inorganic materials bound by cement. The material, known as Kalcret, is heat-resistant and composed of well-matched components. Ultra-fine particles from micro- and nanosilica fill all the pores between the cement particles, providing high density and wear resistance.

Heat-resistant wear concrete properties

This concrete has a number of unique properties:

  • Deployable up to temperatures of 1200 °C
  • High wear resistance and pressure resistance
  • Can be sprayed, poured or applied with a trowel
  • Available as prefabricated moldings for quick assembly
  • Suitable for lining pipes even with diameters as small as 40 mm

Applications

Kalcret is widely used in industrial applications where wear and heat play an important role:

  • Prefabricated shaped parts with threaded ends for quick assembly
  • Lining of tubes and pipes
  • Repair mortar for concrete exposed to high abrasive wear
  • Protective coatings in dedusting lines of clinker coolers
  • Powder coal bends fitted with Kalcret

Practice

This product in practice:

  • A protective layer in a dedusting line of a clinker cooler
  • Powder coal bends fitted with Kalcret for improved wear resistance

These examples show how Kalcret contributes to the sustainability and efficiency of industrial processes.

Technical details

Kalcret is available in various shapes and can be applied on site by spraying, molding or manual application. The material is also available as prefabricated moldings, allowing for quick and easy installation.
