Wear-resistant fused basalt

What is abrasion-resistant fused basalt?

Abresist is our brand name for melt basalt, a material created by pouring molten natural basalt into molds without air inclusions and then undergoing a 24-hour annealing process. The result is a smooth, corrosion-free, wear-resistant material that is resistant to most chemicals and acids.

Key features

Abresist offers a number of unique advantages:

  • Smooth surface that is continuously maintained
  • Absolutely corrosion-free
  • Resistant to chemicals and acids
  • Applicable up to temperatures of 350 °C
  • Highly wear-resistant and efficient in production processes

Applications of Abresist

Melt basalt is widely used in industrial applications, especially in situations with less abrasive wear and without thermo-shocks. Examples:

  • Lower-speed hydraulic piping
  • Pneumatic conveying lines with air velocities below 20 m/s
  • Cladding of cooking bunkers
  • Chain conveyors with wear-resistant lining

Practice

Some successful applications of wear-resistant fused basalt:

  • A cooking bunker lined with Abresist
  • A chain conveyor with Abresist cladding

These examples show how Abresist can improve the efficiency and longevity of industrial processes.

Technical details

Abresist fused basalt is ideal for industrial applications where wear and chemical resistance are critical. The material performs optimally at temperatures up to 350°C and is a durable choice for a variety of industries.
